College Planning
Below are links that may assist students in planning and/or choosing a college. Seniors generally begin applying for college in the fall of their senior year. Paper applications for most colleges are available in the guidance office, although most colleges prefer students to apply on-line.
After students apply for a college they need to see Mrs. Halling in the Guidance and Counseling office to request that a transcript be sent.
Regent Admission Index (RAI) Calctulator ~ On-line tool to assist students in figuring their RAI for admission to the Iowa regent schools.

Iowa College Student Aid Commission ~ Comprehensive site providing links to college web sites as well as information on financial aid. Includes links for students, as well as parents.
Princeton Review ~ Links to search schools, get rankings of 'best' schools, and improve test scores.
Smart Career Move ~ Links to businesess, colleges, and careers. Information on growing career fields, employers, and internships.
Students.gov ~ Information on choosing a college, preparing for college, study abroad programs, calculating college costs and relocation.
The College Planning Center ~ Information relating to choosing a college, applying for financial aid, investigating career and a FREE scholarship search.
Campus Tours ~ Allows students to take virtual tours of college campuses.
Apply On-Line ~ Site sponsored by ACT. Links to on-line applications for college entrance. Includes financial need estimator and on-line registration for the ACT.
Mapping Your Future ~ Provides information on college financial strategies, career options, and college planning.
Iowa Association of Community Colleges ~ Links to community colleges in Iowa. Includes a map.
Iowa Association of Independent Colleges & Universities ~ Provides information about and links to private colleges in Iowa.
